Service Corporation International and its subsidiaries (including regional entities operating under the Dignity Memorial® or other brands) ("SCI") are committed to respecting the privacy of our clients and website visitors in a manner that would be expected of a leading provider of funeral, cemetery, and related services. We value our relationships with existing and prospective clients, and recognize that an essential element of those relationships is the trust and confidence of the individuals and families we serve.

This Privacy Policy applies to personal information provided or obtained on www.thedignityplanner.com (the "Site"). This Policy does not apply to personal information that may be provided using SCI"s other websites or any third-party website.

Please note that information or other content submitted on a third-party memorial website or other third-party website linked to this Site is subject to the terms of the privacy policy applicable to such third-party website, and not the terms of this Privacy Policy.

Information We Collect

Contact and Content Upload Information. When you sign up for an account, we collect your personal account information, including name, email address, zip code, and phone number. When you contact us using one of our online contact forms, we receive the messages you send as well as the personal information you provide. If you upload any images, written content, or other computer files ("User Content") to the Site, we also receive any personal information you submit at the time.

Invitees. If you register for an account through the Site, you may invite others to access information associated with your account and to submit information and upload User Content to your account. We use information you provide about invitees to send them an invitation as directed by you.

If you have been invited by an accountholder to access or provide information relating to an account, this Privacy Policy governs the treatment of information you submit and User Content you upload to the account, and information you provide may be collected, used, and shared as described herein as if it had been received directly from an accountholder.

Note that we cannot be responsible for any use, dissemination, copying, modification, or deletion by invitees of information or User Content associated with your account.

Transactional and Preference Information. We generate, collect, and maintain information about you as necessary to offer and provide products and services to you. This includes transactional information that you provide for payment purposes, such as shipping address, billing address, e-mail address, and credit card or bank account information. We also may receive information (but not payment card information) concerning your transactions with some of our affiliates and business partners whose funeral, cremation, or other time-of-death services and related products may be made available via a link from the Site. When you indicate preferences and make selections using our planning tool, we also collect and use that information to enhance your use of the Site.

Log Data. When you access and use our Site, we may automatically record information concerning your activity on the Site. This may include your IP address or other identifier, your browser type, the types of information you search for and view on our Site, locale preferences, and your mobile carrier. If you arrived at our Site by clicking on an advertisement or promotion on another website, we may also take note of the web page you visited before you came to our Site.

Linked Accounts. If the Site permits you to create an account on this Site using your login information from your account on Facebook or another social media site, and you choose to do so, we will use such login information to access and collect the information that the social media site permits us to access so that we can create your account on this Site and so that you can more easily connect to your family and friends.

How We Use Personal Information

We use personal information to facilitate your planning purposes and provide you with quality services, to carry out requested transactions, and to improve our Site, our services, and related offerings. We may use some of the information that we collect concerning you in order to present you with information concerning products or services that may be of interest, and we may share that information within our family of affiliates. We also may use zip codes or other information to advise you concerning products and services that may be of interest to you based on geographic location (such as nearby funeral homes and related service providers).

As described above, we will share information and User Content associated with your account with individuals whom you invite to access and add to such information and User Content.

We require that those providers use personal information only for that purpose, and we also require assurances that they will appropriately protect personal information entrusted to them.

In addition, we may retain and use communications, transaction details, your IP address, and identifying information in order to maintain audit trails for security purposes.

Social Media Features

The Site may include social media features, such as the Facebook Like button and widgets, such as the Share This button or interactive mini-programs that run on our Site. If you utilize any of these features, the third-party social media website may collect your IP address and information about which page you are visiting on the Site, and they may set a cookie to enable the feature to function properly. Actions you take in connection with our social media features may be reflected in a manner visible to others; for example, if you "Like" us on Facebook, others may be able to see that you have done so.
